Part of Sol du Mazel
Vaulted ceilings, oak beams, open-plan living. Three bedrooms sleeping up to six.
Rose Barn
Rose Barn was a tobacco-drying barn when Andy and Katie bought Sol du Mazel in 2010. The restoration kept the bones — the height, the stone, the character — and transformed the interior into a spectacular open-plan space that forms the social centre of any group stay.
The vaulted ceiling rises above a kitchen and dining area large enough to seat ten comfortably. Bifold doors open the living room directly onto the terrace, the pool beyond. In summer, the boundary between inside and outside more or less disappears.
Rose Barn has three bedrooms and sleeps up to six adults and children. Combined with Hope Cottage next door, the whole property accommodates ten. The connecting door means the two gîtes work as one home when you want them to.
Inside Rose Barn
Sleeping
One large double bed. Chestnut wood floor, wrought iron bed frame, sumptuous mattress. Can accommodate a travel cot for a baby alongside the bed. Ground floor, overlooking the terrace and pool.
Two single beds in a spacious room. Can also accommodate a travel cot if needed. Chestnut floors, full-height windows. Quiet at the rear of the barn.
Two full-size sets of bunk beds — four berths in total. Purpose-built for children, though adult-sized. Favourite room in the house, without exception.
What's in Rose Barn
Always together
In July and August, Rose Barn and Hope Cottage are let together as a single booking — the whole property is yours. Outside peak season, Rose Barn is also available on its own for a single group of up to six.
The connecting door between the two gîtes means you can move freely. Many groups find grandparents take Hope Cottage while parents and children fill Rose Barn. Both kitchens, both living rooms, one property.
